International Mathematical Union (IMU) Fields Medal
The Fields Medal is awarded every four years (the next award is scheduled for 2026) on the occasion of the International Congress of Mathematicians to recognize outstanding mathematical achievement for existing work and for the promise of future achievement. Self-nominations are strongly discouraged.
Value: The award carries a cash amount of $15,000 CAD.
Eligibility: Candidates must be under 40 years of age.
Note: If institutional nomination/external expert review is sought (individuals may also nominate candidates outside of the institutional process), please submit a candidate suggestion form at least three months in advance of the external deadline to recommend a candidate to the President’s Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes.
