Governor General's International Award in Canadian Studies

The Governor General's International Award for Canadian Studies is intended for a scholar who has made an outstanding contribution to scholarship and to the development of Canadian Studies internationally. Self-nominations are not accepted. The prize is awarded alternately to an individual having and having essentially had a Canadian Studies career in Canada (the competition in the odd years) and to an individual having and having essentially had a Canadian Studies career in another country (the competition in the even years)

Note: If institutional nomination/external expert review is sought (individuals may also nominate candidates outside of the institutional process), please submit a candidate suggestion form at least three months in advance of the external deadline to recommend a candidate to the President’s Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes. .
